Coroebus of Elis was a baker and athlete who won the stadion race in the first recorded Ancient Olympic Games in 776 BC, thus becoming the first Olympic champion. James Connolly, the American athlete, became the first winner of the Modern Olympics when he won the triple jump in Athen in 1896.

    Coroebus was the " fisrt ever ancient olympics champion' & connoly was the ' first ever modern olympics champion'

  2. 1st pic- Statue of Coroebus of Elis- the very first Olympic champion in history in the Olympic games in 776 BC. He won the sole event at the Olympics, the stade - a run of approximately 192 meters.

    2nd pic- James Brendan Connolly- was the first modern Olympic champion. In 1896 Olympic games held at Athens, Greece, he won the Men's triple jump.
